Pharmacists in West Africa, under the umbrella of the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacists are thrilled to announce the commencement of an exciting new building project that will house the regional headquarters of the College. This state-of-the-art and ultramodern Secretariat facility will serve as a central hub for our operations, allowing us to better serve our community and promote harmonisation of Pharmacy education and practice in the region, promoting research in Pharmacy and advancing Pharmacy practice in specialised disciplines. We are in the forefront of promoting harmonisation of pharmaceutical legislation and development of National Drug Policies in the region.

WAPCP Breaks Ground for Secretariat Building Construction
The new headquarters will not only provide an efficient and dynamic space for the Pharmacy Fellows in the West African sub-region, but it will also enable us to expand our reach and deliver greater value to the stakeholders we serve. The facility will feature e-library, regionaldrug information centre, conference halls modern offices, meeting rooms, and guest rooms, community spaces, etc and is designed to meet the growing needs of the healthcare sector while supporting innovation and collaboration.
The college president said the building, a five storey edifice, is estimated to cost N3.8 billion, with a time frame of 24 months to build when the fund is available.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the College secretariat building, which was done on September 20, 2024, and situated on No.13 Jibowu Street, Yaba, Lagos Nigeria, is a testament to the fact that the government alone cannot build the health sector, and that the College is working hard to join hands with the government to advance the health sector.
